What Is Invisalign Treatment?
Invisalign treatment is the clear alternative to metal braces for kids, teens, and adults.
The Invisalign treatment is a gradual process which uses “see through” transparent ‘aligners’ that are custom made to fit over your teeth completely.
Each set of Invisalign aligners is unique to each individual.
Unlike all other form of braces, Invisalign aligners are quite soft and comfortable and are barely visible. These can also be easily removed, so that one can eat and drink as normal, and they are very easy to clean. It is not uncommon for us to have our patients tell us that after a few days they didn’t even notice they are wearing them!
At Dentotsav, we use a state-of-the-art digital mapping system to create a precise 3D model of your teeth and their existing alignment. The exercise of mapping such a digital model of one’s teeth eliminates any need for messy and time-consuming impressions.
Unlike in the case of traditional braces, this 3D model can then be made to show what your teeth will look like after a full course of Invisalign.

At the beginning of your Invisalign treatment, your dentist will examine your oral health and create an impression that will then be used to create your aligners. You will be able to see how your new smile will look using Invisalign’s innovative and proprietary ‘ClinCheck 3D treatment plan’ software.
During the course of your treatment, you will be fitted with several aligners, each being just slightly different from the last, which will need to be changed roughly once every two weeks.
Your dentist will keep an eye on how your treatment is progressing with regular check-up appointments. At the end of your treatment period, you will need to wear retainers to prevent your teeth from moving back to a less optimal position.

Will Invisalign Be Suitable For Me?
Invisalign treatment may be recommended for you if you have crowded teeth, gapped teeth or an overbite, and if you are an older teenager or adult. The system must ideally be kept in place for 20-22 hours a day, if not longer and you must be willing and able to accept this as the most effective way of achieving the smile you want. Pre-existing oral treatments you may have had in the past, such as crowns or bridges, are usually not a hindrance in undergoing Invisalign Treatment. Even in cases where one has a TMJ/TMD condition Invisalign treatment may be undergone with proper supervision. However, if your dentist decides – upon examining your oral health – that this system is unsuitable for you for any reason, then usually they will be able to recommend a suitable alternative form of teeth-realignment treatment.
